Conveyor Drive Bands

Kaybin manufactures custom conveyor drive bands for packaging, bottling, and light-to-medium duty conveyor systems where reliable grip, low noise, and long service life are critical. Each band is produced to your required profile and length to transmit power smoothly between drive shafts, rollers, and pulleys without slippage or premature wear.

Function & Typical Applications

Transmits drive from motors/shafts to conveyor rollers and pulleys

Provides positive grip with reduced noise versus chain or geared drives

Protects rollers and product from impact and hard metal contact

Used on packaging lines, bottling plants, printing and labelling machines, light materials-handling and OEM conveyor systems

Material Options

Drive bands are manufactured from high-performance elastomers and engineering polymers selected for load, speed, and environment:

Polyurethane (PU elastomer) – primary material; high wear resistance, excellent flex fatigue, good grip, low noise

NBR / other rubbers – where additional damping or oil resistance is required

Polyester / reinforced options – where dimensional stability and higher tension are needed

Materials and hardness are matched to pulley design, wrap angle, speed, and required traction.

Operating Conditions
Designed for:

Continuous or start–stop duty on driven roller and belt conveyors

Low to high speeds (depending on band cross-section and material)

Indoor industrial environments, with options for oil, coolant, and mild chemical exposure

Applications where low noise, reduced maintenance and predictable grip are important

Correctly specified drive bands help reduce slippage, tracking issues, and unscheduled conveyor downtime.

Engineering Details Required

To specify the correct conveyor drive band, provide:

Conveyor type and duty (packaging, bottling, accumulation, etc.)

Band cross-section (round, V, flat, or existing profile)

Centre distance, pulley diameters, and required band length (or sample)

Required traction level and operating speed

Environment (dry, oily, damp, washdown, temperature range)

Kaybin then selects the appropriate elastomer and manufactures conveyor drive bands to your exact specification for reliable, repeatable performance in industrial plants.
