Custom Machined Shafts & Drive Pins for Industrial and OEM Equipment
Kaybin manufactures custom machined shafts and drive pins to drawing or sample for pumps, gearboxes, drives and OEM mechanisms. Each shaft is turned, milled and finished to the required tolerance so that bearings, seals and couplings run true under load and deliver longer service life.
Function & Typical Applications
- Transmit torque between motors, gearboxes, couplings and driven equipment
- Support bearings, seals, impellers, sprockets and pulleys
- Maintain alignment and concentricity under load
- Used on pumps, gearboxes, agitators, conveyors, mixers, packaging machines and custom OEM assemblies

- Drive pins can be machined to locate and drive hubs, couplings or workpieces as part of the same assembly
Material Options
Shafts and pins are machined from metals specified for strength, corrosion resistance and machinability, for example:
- Stainless steels (e.g. 304 / 316) for corrosion-prone or hygienic environments
- Carbon / alloy steels for higher strength and torque transmission
- Other grades on request to match existing OEM spec
- Material, hardness and finish are matched to your bearing, seal and coupling requirements.
Operating Conditions
Designed for:
- Rotating duty with continuous or start–stop operation
- Bearing-supported shafts with controlled run-out and surface finish
- Wet, corrosive or abrasive environments depending on material grade
- Applications where misalignment, wear or corrosion of existing shafts is causing failures
- Correctly specified shafts reduce vibration, extend bearing and seal life and stabilise driven equipment.
Engineering Details Required
To manufacture the correct shaft or drive pin, provide:
- Drawing or sample (preferred), or full dimensions (diameters, shoulders, keyways, threads, overall length)
- Fit / tolerance requirements for bearings, seals and couplings
- Material grade if known, or service conditions (media, corrosion, load)
- Operating speed, load type (torque, bending) and duty cycle
Kaybin then confirms material and machining details and produces shafts and drive pins to your exact specification for reliable service in industrial and OEM equipment.
